Sad or Happy ending ?..

In the last chapter of the Graveyard Book Bod starts to lose his powers in the Graveyard. He is now roughly sixteen and there is only so much more that the graveyard people can do for him. In the end his mother tells him bye and everyone else, then he gets to Silas and is confused why everyone is telling him goodbye, and Silas tells him that he is getting older now and the world is out there waiting for him to explore it. Bod almost doesn't know what to say, but he leaves the Graveyard with good intentions on going and living his life while he can. Do you think the ending to this book was sad or happy? and what do you think Bod will do with his life?

  1. I think the ending to this book was happy. Bod was able to help his graveyard family from danger, and lived with them for a happy 15 years. Now it is Bod's turn to live his life to the fullest. I hope he will be able to visit his graveyard family and friends after he has passed, along with his real family.

  3. I think it was a very good ending. Bod is finally grownup and is starting his life despite his connection to his childhood home, graveyard. He starts to realize he doesn't belong there anymore and I think that is why he is able to leave all his closest friends, his family, and his home.

  4. I think that the ending was both sad and happy. The life that he has always known i now completely gone, but he finally has the freedom to see the world like he has always wanted to do. I also think that they left the ending very open.
